Japanese riders might bump into Santa sooner than they think.Commuters in Shiga prefecture can get festive on their daily commute thanks to a new service on the Shigaraki Kōgen Railway.
A new "Christmas" service has begun and is proving popular with mothers and children mesmerized by the decorations. Click here to see the video.
The carriage is embellished with tinsel, the windows with fake snow and Merry Christmas messages and to top it all, the railway has hired students to sing Christmas tunes to passengers.
According to the NHK report the "Santa Train" will run twice daily between Shigaraki station and Kibukawa station until December 24, though reservations are required.
