The Ritz-Carlton: Stay midtown in Midtown

The Ritz-Carlton, Tokyo is a luxury experience in its own right, that puts the magic of Tokyo Midtown at your doorstep

Every good multi-use metro complex needs its own luxury hotel. Roppongi Hills has the Grand Hyatt. Ark Hills has the ANA InterContinental.

Tokyo Midtown -- perhaps destined to be Tokyo's last great giant-scale development -- brought in American high-end hotel chain Ritz-Carlton to populate the bottom and top towers of its giant new tower.

Views are spectacular, as expected, and Ritz-Carlton's giant, well-furnished rooms set a new standard in spaciousness for local luxury hotels. The Michelin-starred Hinokizaka Japanese restaurant is also a major attraction for guests and locals alike.

The greatest perk, however, may be the location. No, the Nogizaka area isn't exactly a blast, but Tokyo Midtown itself has all the shops and restaurants necessary to enjoy a comfortable stay in the city. Four major centers for art -- Mori Arts Center, National Art Center Tokyo, Suntory Museum of Art and 21_21 Design Sight -- are also within walking distance.

For those looking to really do Tokyo right, The Ritz-Carlton, Tokyo offers a ¥2,000,000-per-night Ritz-Carlton Suite. Take a date there, and you may be back soon to use the hotel's Wedding Chapel.
