Mandarin Oriental Tokyo
The Deluxe Room offers an amazing view of the Nihonbashi neighborhood and a slightly Japanese-take on interior design.

The interior design of Mandarin Oriental Tokyo -- sleek glass and steel softened by water features, fabrics in traditional colors and designs, and floors of bamboo or carpet in walnut -- attempts to link the Nihonbashi of the past withTokyo's ultra-modern present. But you may not notice, as your eyes will be glued to the stunning city views from the 38th floor lobby.

Don't worry, the views are equally good in the rooms. Floor-to-ceiling windows give guests on the east side of the building a view of the sun rising over the Pacific; those on the opposite side can watch it set over the Imperial Palace and maybe even Mount Fuji.

Both the Signature restaurant and the Cantonese restaurant Sense have been rewarded with Michelin stars. Other dining options include the Italian restaurant Ventaglio, the Asian-inspired K'shiki and the Tapas 'molecular bar.'
