Uniqlo's 6am sale: Free milk and anpan

In celebration of Fast Retailing's 60th year, Uniqlo is opening its stores at 6am Saturday morning -- and passing out breakfast
Uniqlo saleUniqlo's Ginza flagship will be one of the select stores open at 6am. The neighborhood fortunately doesn't have any riff-raff who would just show up for the free breakfast.

Uniqlo's parent corporation Fast Retailing turns 60 this year, and in celebration, Uniqlo is opening 36 stores in Tokyo early for a special sale on Saturday November 21. How early? Very early. 6am early.

But don't worry about picking up breakfast on the way there. Staff will be passing out milk and anpan to those in line -- just like they did for the first Uniqlo store opening ever in 1984. Just bring your own napkins so you don't get your greasy paws all over the merchandise.

We know that Uniqlo is extremely popular these days, but why in the world would people line up at 6am on a Saturday? Did we mention that men's socks will be ¥10 a pair? Or the special ¥600 price on Heattech?  These sale prices may be a slightly higher than Japan's new favorite price point -- free -- but good enough to get serious budget consumers out of the house.

Also, 100,000 people spending ¥5,000 or more will receive ¥10,000 gift cards from November 21 until December 31.

For more on the sale, see the official Uniqlo webpage. A list of the 21 stores open at 6am for the Uniqlo sale can be found here.
