What to see/do/know in Tokyo: The city's first meat theme park, Final Fantasy XIII and Xmas goods galore
 

1. Check out the beautiful red Japanese maple at the Momiji Festival in Oyama. (Until December 8)

2. Try your hand (and feet... and spine...) at some Tibetan Exercises -- much like yoga -- at Marunouchi Cafe on December 1 and 6.

3. Rave on at Womb Adventure, in the massive Makuhari Messe complex out in Chiba. (December 5)

4. Let Tokyo Midtown help you find the most memorable illuminated spot for picture taking with its "Illumination Concierge" service. (Until Christmas Day)

5. Go back to a groovier era with the Verner Panton exhibition at Opera City in Shinjuku. (Until December 27)

6. Let the clowns of Cirque de Soleil's Corteo lead you on a journey through the afterlife. (Until December 20)

7. Summon up your inner chisled American teenage boy with a trip to Abercrombie & Fitch in Ginza, opening December 15.

8. Design and send your Nengajo New Years greeting cards.

9. Shop for Christmas accessories at Matsuya Ginza from December 2 until Christmas Day.

10. Visit Japan's first "meat theme park" -- Tokyo Meat Rea -- in Hachioji and have some BBQ ribs (¥3,600). Opens December 3.

11. Take a date to see the illumination of Showa Kinen Park -- and see fireworks at 8pm on December 19 and 24.

12. Ice skate at Omotesando Hills or Akasaka Sacas.

13. Shop for French Christmas goods at Tokyo International Forum, shop German at Roppongi Hills and Scandinavian at Tokyo Midtown.

14. See men beat themselves to a pulp in inventive ways at the K-1 World GP 2009 FINAL, Yokohama Arena on December 5.

15. Save the children and get some fancy Bulgari stuff at the charity-themed BVLGARI christmas shop 2009 at Ginza Mitsukoshi, December 8 to 25.

16. Get some good discounts on famous brands at the new outlet-mall version of Venus Fort in Odaiba, opening December 11.

17. Rock it hard at the rock-hard 18th Annual Tokyo Mineral Show, December 11 to 14 at Sunshine City.

18. In good Tokyo tradition, get a room with your loved one for Christmas Eve at the Grand Hyatt, the Peninsula or the Four Seasons Chinzan-so.

19. Spend more than ¥4,000 at Shibuya Parco and receive an "artist collaboration can" from December 19 to 25.

20. Take a sudden vacation, like in this Playstation commercial, to play Final Fantasy XIII on the PS3. December 17.
