Top Tokyo Halloween parties to be caught dead at
The international party: Metropolis Halloween Glitterball 2011

It's been nine years since English-language free paper Metropolitan kicked off its Halloween parties and while it's no longer in the long-demolished wonder-club Velfarre, it is still located in Tokyo's premiere cross-cultural district of Roppongi.
For 2011, "The Monster Bash" will be held at the swanky Vanity Lounge at the top of the Roi Building, notable for three of its exterior walls being sheet glass with a neat view across the city.
As usual, partygoers in costume can win prizes, the big one being a pair of round-trip tickets to New York City.

Providing the place isn't totally crammed, they'll also be a performance from Tokyo Dream Girls, billed as dancers, and campaign girls all in one. Whatever that means.
With drinks at just ¥500, expect a young international crowd, (fake) blood, sweat (under furry costumes) and tears from the prize winners.
October 27, 7 p.m., Vanity Lounge, Roi Building 13/F, 5-5-1 Roppongi.
¥2,000 in advance or ¥2,500 on the night, including one drink and a raffle ticket.
The multi-stage party: Fever Halloween

The largest Halloween party in the city (well, just about in it) is at Ageha in Shin-Kiba, where Fever Halloween resembles more of a festival than a mere party.
Capable of holding well over 2,000 revelers, the venue will welcome a hip Japanese crowd, virtually all of whom will be committed to an entire night out from the 11 p.m. start until morning, when the first trains start up again.

Topping the bill at the Arena Stage, aka live house Studio Coast, will be hip-hop DJ Kaori, while on the Island Stage the CyberJapan dancers will be on hand to accompany the electro grooves.
Weather permitting, the best place to be, though, will be the Water Stage, with its outdoor pool. But beware, no jumping in without appropriate swimwear ...
October 28, 11 p.m., Ageha, 2-2-10 Shin-Kiba.
¥3,500 or ¥2,000 if wearing a full costume.
The film-buff party: Tokyo International Film Festival x Le Baron de Paris

Le Baron de Paris' heyday may be behind it, but it is still the choice venue for many a prestigious party or visiting celeb.
No wonder then that Tokyo International Film Festival (TIFF), running until October 30, will sign off with its Halloween party at the underground venue.

TIFF will be rolling out its celebrated Green Carpet at the entrance and inviting festival guests and jury members to dress for the occasion.
As is usual for Le Baron, entry appears to be accorded based more on who you are or who you know than any set price, but keep an eye on the website for more information
October 29, 9 p.m., Le Baron de Paris, Aoyama Center Building B1/F, 3-8-40 Minami-Aoyama.
