The announcement contained no information on whether Brandon Flowers and co would reschedule their Asia tour.

Popular rock group The Killers issued a statement on their website today announcing their Asia tour concerts in Hong Kong, Tokyo, Singapore, Manila, Beijin, and Seoul had been officially canceled due to "unforeseen circumstance."

"The Killers have been forced to cancel their appearances in Singapore, Beijing, Hong Kong, Manila, Tokyo and Seoul due to unforeseen circumstances involving a serious illness of a close family member (updated January 23, 2010.) The band deeply apologizes to their fans and hope to reschedule their shows in these cities soon. At this time the band's Australian appearances remain scheduled as planned," the statement read.

A post on MTV's Asia blog provides information on where to find refunds for tickets already purchased.

@busternuck: I strongly agree with you. This is so unfair. This is very disappointing, as I bought the tickets two months ago and even begged my mom to lend me money for the tickets. My friend even skipped meals to save on his allowance. This is a crying shame. I thought I had something to look forward to right after the last day of midterms. Now it's just going to be another day before Monday. And I have been hearing this "break" from music after this tour. Does that mean no hope for Asian fans?

Due to the unacceptably late announcement, fans travelling to Singapore had little to no time to cancel flight tickets and accommodation. As a fan, I found the reasons given as very unsatisfactory bordering on being lame. And it is odd that the illness apparently will clear itself by the Australian leg of the tour. Are asian fans getting a fair shake here?

It's weird that they cancelled the Asian leg of their tour but will continue on to do Australia, seeing that the their Asia schedule precedes their Oz dates. It's extremely disappointing because we were just 7 days away, we're practically counting down the days. Not only did we get tickets to see them, we wanted it so badly, we even bought tickets to go to HK. Also, "unforeseen circumstances" is a bit lame. I hope there's a good excuse for the cancellation—not that it'll help the hole in my pocket—but being a fan of their music, I don't want to hate them and a good reason will go a long way to repair the damage.
