Hatoyama Hall: Virtual den of iniquity?
A side-by-side comparison of the real Hatoyama mansion (left) and the video game recreation from "Shirokuma Bellstars" (right). The programmers did their homework. After the landslide election of the Democratic Party of Japan last August, the palatial home of Prime Minister Yukio Hatoyama's family, Hatoyama Hall, has seen a sharp increase in visitors. Oh the irony: A sweeping political change towards broader democracy has only created greater interest in this Bunkyo-ku shrine of aristocratic privilege.
But Tokyo visitors are not the only ones obsessed with the three-story "Otowa Palace." Pulltop, famed maker of sex-themed eroge video games, has created a lookalike virtual version of the Hatoyama residence as part of its racy new title "Shirokuma Bellstars."
Without playing the game, it is unclear how the mock-mansion is used in the narrative, but we fear that the faux Hatoyama Hall may be the setting for all sorts of two-dimensional shenanigans. In the programmers' defense, however, there may be nowhere else in Tokyo with the kind of sexy European flair that tends to satiate otaku libido.
Thankfully, we can guarantee you that nothing so prurient happens in the actual Hatoyama Hall. Jump to the official webpage to learn more about visiting in person.
