A collection of Kamen Rider's mutant enemies
Superb Japan blog Pink Tentacle has uncovered a YouTube channel from user KAMEICHI1964 featuring 312 old clips of the classic Japanese tokusatsu series "Kamen Rider."
The collection has a lot of '70s and '80s kids' television to dig through, but Pink Tentacle has done us the favor of extracting the best visual treats for non-tokusatsu obsessives: the colorful and grotesque "mutant monsters" that hero Kamen Rider often finds himself battling at the end of each show.
In the above clip, we see Kamen Rider against "Fly Man" (ハエ男), who like all good insect-based mutants, explodes into a cloud of gray smoke when defeated in battle.
Weirdest mutant award goes to "Spider Napoleon" -- a hybrid between a spider and 18th century French general Napoleon Bonaparte. Although the way that monster loses so quickly, it's more like "Spider Napoleon III."
