Think of it as making extra stomach space to hold all those holiday goodies.
Tokyo is known for having one of the most convenient public transportation systems in the world. But as anyone who’s ever been faced with the prospect of getting from Nishi-Azabu crossing to Harajuku knows, there are a few holes.
But all is not lost. Next time you find yourself in such a predicament, hop over to the nearest Cogi Cogi location and snag yourself a bicycle.
Cogi Cogi operates an inventive network of “ports” in downtown locations like Omotesando’s Gyre building, the Jingumae Starbucks, Akasaka Excel Hotel, and more. With last month’s opening of a new port by Shibuya Parco Part 1, there are now nearly thirty locations.
Once you become a member (¥525 per month, plus initial registration fee), you are free to simply swipe your card at any location and pick up a bicycle.
Rental is free for the first 30 minutes, and just ¥100 per hour after that. Even better, the bikes can be returned at any Cogi Cogi port.
Register for membership at the Head Concept Store in Omotesando.
Rentals available from 10 a.m. - 8 p.m. Various locations around Minato-ku. More info online.
