Yoshimoto
Although Yoshimoto is famous for its pungent little dishes, the sashimi and seafood is also excellent.
A hidden gem in fast-food-glutted Nishi-Shinjuku, Yoshimoto is famous for its excellent sake selection and panoply of 'chinmi' -- unusual (and often pungent) sake snacks. Where else can you find soy-simmered hachinoko wasp larvae and fermented shuto bonito guts, plus over 70 kinds of premium sake at the same time?

If insects and pickled fish innards aren’t exactly your thing, Yoshimoto has plenty of expertly prepared standard items on offer: Fresh sashimi and grilled fish, crisp vegetable tempura and savory grilled duck for the carnivore.

Overwhelmed by the sake list? Fear not, Yoshimoto’s owner Ohara-san is a trained sake sommelier. To make things even easier, they also have fabulous three-sake tasting flights that change monthly.
They accept:
American Express, Mastercard, Visa, Cash
