Wonderwall's Masamichi Katayama ignored his usual modernist aesthetic for organic 'tattoo' shapes on the ceiling and in the marble flooring.
Stair is a "modern-day cabaret with glitz" in Minami-Aoyama. Translation: a fancy and expensive dining-bar, serving an ever-changing menu based on French cuisine.
Like almost everything else in Aoyama, the interior is brought to you by retail mastermind Masamichi Katayama. He designed the interior to take diners back to the days of fancy European cabarets, which somehow translated into tattoo-inspired wall art and lots of marbleized black-and-white.
The table layout, however, is great for privacy, so no need to worry about anyone overhearing the amorous banter bouncing between you and your other half.
Stair also makes for a great daytime stop when it's time to take a breather from shopping in Omotesando and Aoyama (the lunch menu goes until 3pm).
