Les Creations de Narisawa
Les Creations de Narisawa provides a pristine atmosphere in which to contemplate its advanced gastronomy.

In Tokyo’s sea of Michelin-starred French restaurants, Les Creations de Narisawa stands out. Inclusion on San Pellegrino's list of top 50 global eateries doesn't hurt, but it all comes down to chef Yoshihiro Narisawa’s virtuoso infusion of Japanese elements into classic French cuisine.

Signature dishes such as 'Mountain and the Sea' rely on deft layering and the element of surprise: tender slices of abalone hidden beneath a bed of mountain vegetables are sheathed in a Jamon Iberico gelee. The meats alone, painstakingly basted to perfection or slow-roasted and crusted with 'sumi' charcoal, are worth the trip and the ¥21,000 price tag.

The fact that most everything is unbelievably delicious becomes a double-edged sword toward the end of the meal. By dessert, you may feel full enough to contemplate throwing yourself upon that sword. Les Creations de Narisawa kills you with kindness -- ten courses plus three desserts.
