The busy Aoyama shopping area near Dragonfly Café completely empties out at night and becomes a great place to find solace.
Dragonfly Café attracts Tokyo’s most elite creative intellects. With its large communal table, scattered sculptures, mismatched antiques, modular furniture and branch of Cow Books (sellers of out of print titles from the 1960s and 1970s), the café is the ideal hangout for the Minami Aoyama 'set' -- think art bookstore owner crossed with a fashionista.
The food is adequate but not the highlight, but the balcony is one of the best places in the 'hood to people watch.
Drinks at Dragonfly Café run a bit more pricey than elsewhere, but you pay for the unrivaled atmosphere.
