All 56 of Meiji 56chocolates in full color
Blogger Shibuya246 recently took a trip to 100% Chocolate Cafe -- with extremely colorful results.
While the cafe itself -- with architecture from Tokyo retail king Masamichi Katayama (Wonderwall) -- is nice in its golds and browns, the most striking visual may be Meiji's 56chocolates series. For this special line of treats, Meiji offers 56 different varieties of chocolate squares, each color-coded by country of origin.
Japanese confectioners and snack makers often get flack for making too many flavors, but with 56chocolates, Meiji takes that Kit Kat idea of over-production to a more sophisticated level. Chocolate lovers will be enticed to go back and try all the varieties, while design freaks can drool over the modernist packaging from Groovisions.
Great news is that these chocolates make great stocking stuffers, or come next February, will work perfectly for impressing your stylish boy interest on Valentine's Day.
