Aburaya
Fresh ingredients -- turban shell on ice, a basket of matsutake mushrooms -- are laid out on the counter, as the chefs will walk you through the specials as you watch them prepare your meal.

Aburaya has everything you’d want in a neighborhood izakaya. There's down-home favorites like eggplant sautéed in sweet and savory miso, and a huge collection of sake from top producers like Niigata’s Hokusetsu and Hiroshima’s Kamoizumi. The staff brings it all together with a dose of salty charm and jokes that only a father could love.

Add to that the fact that it’s smack in the middle of Roppongi, and you’ve got yourself a winner.

The salarymen-heavy clientele may be off-putting at first, but the service at Aburaya is warm and welcoming.

They're equally happy to help you choose your sake. With over 80 varieties on the menu, you’ll need it.

They accept:
American Express, Cash
