Tokyo's best standing bar
Recommended: Tio Danjo

Tio Danjo is a casual Ebisu standing bar that doesn't at first glance look like a stand out. But go inside and you'll find authentic Spanish fare and decent Spanish wines, making this one of author and Bento.com manager Robb Satterwhite's favorites.
“I even like its quaint chalkboard menu,” he says. “Usually you can find offers like gazpacho and tapas-like dishes such as bacon-wrapped dates, cod fritters and Iberico ham."
Another favorite for Satterwhite is the white asparagus and swordfish grilled on the plancha.
Wines start at around ¥500 per glass, with fino sherry from around ¥600.
Open daily, 5:30 p.m.-1 a.m. Tio Danjo, 1F, Ogibara Bldg, 1-12-5 Ebisu, Shibuya-ku, tel. + 81 (0) 3 5420 0747
