This writer and hotel junky was excited and surprised the day she spied the signage for Pensione Hotel, a black and white banner hanging high above a not particularly attractive part of George Street, but finally promising a cool use for some of the great old office buildings in the area.

The excitement was justified. Pensione is the little boutique hotel you want to find downtown in every city.
