The biggest plus Diamant Hotel has going for it is its location.

For those wanting to be in the thick of Sydney’s bar, restaurant and nightlife quarter, hotels do not come much better situated than this.

Rooms are on the small side however and things can get rowdy in the Cross. So choose wisely.

But there are great add-ons here, like free gym passes, iPod docks in rooms, cheap Internet, parking -- at a cost, but parking in this part of town will never be cheap -- Toby’s Estate coffee on the premises, and one of the city’s great small bars too.

Time to Vino is a regular on best bar lists and is on the radar of hipsters, so you need not go searching for that perfect little wine bar down an alleyway. (Though we recommend you do.)

For tasting the best bohemian neighborhood in Sydney, the Diamant is hard to beat.
