It’s pet-friendly and it’s got a pool table in the lobby. That might be enough for some. How about free Internet, local calls and breakfast? And a location right in the center of the Darlo/Kings Cross action?

Add a little bit of rock ‘n’ roll and a rooftop garden and you’ve got this slightly eccentric little inn. It’s in Sydney, but it could be in the Greenwich Village of old with its inviting atrium out front and 19th-century architectural features.

Owner Alan is usually up front with his two four-legged friends, Slick and Bear. But it’s efficient, spacious, clean and comfortable; eccentricity does not, in this case, mean lack of attention to detail.

There is a separate apartment a couple of doors down that still affords those staying there access to breakfast, the hotel lounge and a rooftop pool.

The apartment has access to secure parking. Throughout, the décor is loft modern, with lots of wood, stone and cool, calm colors.
