Book lovers have a soft spot for Gleebooks -- even the name brings a smile to their faces.
The flagship store stocks new books and DVDs, while you can find second-hand and children’s books at its original site up the road (at 49 Glebe Point Rd).
Gleebooks has a wonderfully worn-in feel, just the way true bookworms like it, with different sections signposted with street-style signs.
The expansive upstairs area is also the home of regular literary events open to the public.
Gleebooks has also been the official bookseller of the Sydney Writers’ Festival since 2005 and has won many awards, including Australian Bookseller of the Year -- five times.
