Something strange happened in Sydney in 2009. One of the city's favorite gay bars, The Flinders, turned straight. Meanwhile, just a few blocks away, straight nightclub Nevermind turned gay.
It was a brazen display of two different clans claiming what belonged to the other, in both cases making their new possessions much more pretty than before. Sydney's Gen Y gay crowd took minutes to make Nevermind their own and have never looked back.
Friday nights are where it all began, with "Disgraceland" showcasing drag superstar Courtney Act's many talents, flanked by a troupe of hunky dancers. Saturdays now feature guest DJs and performers delivering a mix of house music, electro and pop music.
