The Colombian Hotel

The Colombian Hotel ushered in a much more sophisticated era for gay Sydney when it opened in the early noughties. It also made gay clubbing more irresistible than ever for Sydney's straights, so nowadays Friday and Saturday nights are packed with a friendly mix of both crowds.

With a video bar downstairs on street level, The Colombian offers excellent vantage points to watch Sydney's "colorful" street life. It's also an excellent place to grab an afternoon beer if you're on your own.

Upstairs is the nightclub, though the music can be a too boompty boomp for some, with no real highs or lows to the mix.  On major party weekends such as the Queens Birthday, New Years Eve and Mardi Gras, The Colombian hosts daytime recovery parties.
