With the humble meat pie being practically Australia’s national dish, heading down to Harry’s Woolloomooloo pie wagon has become a Sydney rite of passage. The van’s history goes back to 1938.
Whilst there is a long list of celebrity diners, including Frank Sinatra and Marlene Dietrich, most evenings you’ll share a bench with cabbies, clubbers and locals. They’re here for a pie dripping with mash, mushy peas and gravy called Harry’s Tiger.
