Star Alliance launches FareFinder iPhone app

The app also allows customized requests with additional search criteria like number of passengers, arrival and departure times, class of service, number of stops, transfer airports and point of sale.
After making a selection, the ITA Software-powered app will then display available fares across member airlines, with links to the relevant websites and call centers so that the purchase can be made.
For now, the FareFinder is available as a free download in English from www.staralliance.com or from the Apple app store, but Star Alliance says versions running on other operating systems are due to be released “in the foreseeable future”.
The app is available to non-Star Alliance members, and so far has received positive comments praising its performance as "real fast search" and "a slick application for finding flights."
There are currently 27 member airlines within the Star Alliance, including, Singapore Airlines, United, ANA, Turkish Airlines, Thai Airways, Continental Airlines, Air New Zealand, Asiana Air and Lufthansa Airlines.
