The Fullerton Bay Hotel Singapore: Marina Bay receives first waterfront hotel

The Fullerton Bay Hotel has opened, becoming the first waterfront hotel in Marina Bay. Besides promising to offer a luxurious stay with magnificent marina views, this hotel is situated at the historic Clifford Pier, a landing point for many of Singapore’s early settlers.

The hotel consists of 100 rooms and five individually themed suites plus a Presidential Suite, all based on Singapore’s array of different nationalities such as Chinese, Malay, Indian, Peranakan and Colonial. The suites are found on the upper three stories of the hotel and are labeled after the ex-governors of the Straits settlement. 

Internationally acclaimed interior designer Andre Fu brings has used vintage nautical maps and commissioned contemporary art to reveal a mix of the heritage and modern changes in Singapore. His works can be seen from the entrance to the three restaurants in the hotel, including Clifford, The Landing Point and Lantern. 

A vintage furnished brasserie with 10-meter high floor-to-ceiling windows overseeing the waterfront, Clifford will offer extraordinary views of Marina Bay whilst dining, whether it is indoors or al fresco.

Surrounding the rooftop swimming pool is Lantern, a bar that offers gourmet snacks along with drinks and panoramic views of the bay and is the perfect spot for a relaxed afternoon or a romantic rendezvous.

The Landing Point is the connoisseur’s lounge du jour with an outdoor terrace.

From now until August 31, 2010 a deluxe room is priced at S$388 and will include set breakfast for two people at Clifford and in-room Internet access.
