Raffles Hotel
The grand old dame of colonial glory has got herself a multi-million dollar facelift.

“When in Singapore, feed at the Raffles.”
- Rudyard Kipling in 1899.

Ok so everyone has been to Raffles. Every Singapore visitor has a snapshot of it and every local who's-who has dined there more times than they can count. Well time to return as the Raffles Hotel just had a multi-million dollar face lift. Every architectural detail has been restored to its 1915 colonial heritage -- right down to the tiles, antique furniture and 1920s-style light fixtures.

Try to get a room facing the hotel's palm courtyard for a real colonial experience, then ask resident historian, Mr Danker for a quick lecture on the hotel’s history. Oh and don't forget to ask about their striped furry guest. We think it's gone, but we're not 100% sure.
