Crowne Plaza Changi Airport
There's a surprising amount of greenery at Crowne Plaza Changi Airport despite being next to the airport.
It's small, grotty and not very clean, just like every other airport hotel around the world. Except it's not. Crowne Plaza Changi Airport is actually a great place to be stuck in when your flight's canceled or delayed. The rooms are spacious, with stand-alone bathtubs, soft carpeting and super-comfy beds.

This is one of the more unique business hotels in Singapore -- they really believe in saving the environment -- and to think it's near an airport! Exhibit A: The non-air-conditioned hallways. Exhibit B: Wide windows in all rooms for natural light to curb artificial bulb use. Exhibit C: Massive amounts of greenery all over the place.

Our favorite spot is the pool, which is almost like an indoor lagoon filled with soothing water features and plants. Duck into one of the hotel's restaurants or grab a drink at Bar 75, the retro sports bar. Crowne Plaza Changi Airport is directly attached to the new Terminal 3, which houses many eateries, including Crystal Jade Shanghai Restaurant and its yum dim sum.
