Gallery: Uniqlo's Spring/Summer 2010 fashion show
It's Uniqlo's biggest fashion show ever... outside of Japan of course
By Larry Loh 7 December, 2009It's the Japanese retail brand's largest fashion show ever staged to date, and it was both a showcase of the latest Uniqlo spring/summer 2010 collection and to mark the opening of UNIQLO’s largest store in Southeast Asia -- the 17,000 sq feet mega-store at the new 313@Somerset mall.

"We are very heartened by the positive response that UNIQLO has received since entering the Southeast Asian market this year. This has definitely been a great indication of the demand for quality and innovative apparel at affordable prices," said Mr Satoshi Onoguchi, Co-Managing Director for UNIQLO Singapore to CNNGo.
The new 313@Somerset store also has a few exclusives. Following Uniqlo's philosophy of working with international designers, the 313@Somerset will carry an exclusive Jil Sander collection from "fashion’s queen of minimalism," as well as a limited edition collection by famed cult designer Kiminori Morishita (his first collaboration with the Japanese casual wear label).
A queue of as many as 200 people formed at the store even before its official opening time on the day of launch, most of whom were there for the opening specials with Uniqlo brand jeans going for about half price at S$19.90. A larger number of cashier points has also been set up during the promotional phase to ensure quicker transactions. According to Uniqlo, the response from the public has been overwhelming and that the opening specials items are running low, so you might have already missed the boat if you're thinking of dropping by now.
