First in Singapore: The new Porsche Design P'9522 Black Edition phone
James Bond is now thinking: "If only I was German enough to drive a Porsche instead of an Aston Martin."Singapore is the first country in the world to get the P'9522 (apostrophe included) Black Edition luxury mobile phone. Awesome. You need to drive a Porsche to be eligible to buy one. Damn. Seriously, you'll be laughed out of the showroom. There are only 100 sets of this limited-edition model in Singapore, and Hong Kong is due next.
According to CNET Asia, the sleek super-luxe phone comes with the equally luxe price tag of S$2,280 (approximately US$1,600), and after Hong Kong will be making its way to markets in China, Germany, Dubai and Russia. The body's milled from a block of solid aluminum, with the words "Porsche Design Black Edition" laser-etched onto the back.
It's not the first mobile phone launched by Porsche Design. The first Porsche Design mobile phone, the P'9521, was unveiled three years ago. But it's by far the most advanced, with Biometric Fingerprint Sensor technology to guard the data files and phonebook in the device, and to trigger various functions. That's right folks, you will probably be able to start your car with the phone, ala James Bond style.
