A Bathing Ape comes to Singapore, finally
Tomoaki "Nigo" Nagao -- owner, founder and creative head honcho behind the street wear fashion brand
The retail blogsphere is all abuzz about the upcoming launch and opening of A Bathing Ape's new store at the Mandarin Gallery, Singapore. The Japanese clothing company, founded by Tomoaki "Nigo" Nagao in 1993 in Harajuku, Tokyo, had already spread to Hong Kong, London, New York, Taipei and Los Angeles, so it's high time that the cult brand made some headway in Southeast Asia.
The retailer opens just in time for Christmas on December 17, and will debut an exclusive T-shirt concurrently at the store’s opening. A Bathing Ape has a long standing history of collaborating with other retails chains and designers -- owner and founder Nigo worked with Hong Kong clothing brand Chocoolate, known for their hyper-simple casual wear in black and white, for an anniversary line. See our article here.
The burning question is, will Nigo make a similar appearance here?
