Usain Bolt set to become Youth Olympic Games' newest Ambassador
Usain Bolt joins Youth Olympic Games as an ambassador.Usain Bolt will join fellow Olympic champions swimmer Michael Phelps and pole vaulter Yelena Tsinbayeva to become a Youth Olympic Games Ambassador at the first Youth Olympic Games which is set to take place this August in Singapore.
The 23-year-old Jamaican sprinter holds the World and Olympic records for the 100m, 200m and 4x100m relay events. He is the first athlete to win three sprinting events at a single Olympics (2008 Summer Olympics) since Carl Lewis in 1984.
Bolt believes that as an Ambassador, he will be able to provide inspiration to young people, encouraging them to become more active in sports.
IOC President Jacques Rogge was pleased with the addition of Bolt to the Youth Olympic Games team. He hopes children around the world will look up to Bolt as an inspirational figure.
