Author to reveal all at 'The Strip Show' book launch party

Not everyday do we get to meet people who decide to turn their lives around after 30. But that's exactly what former shipping manager and author of "The Strip Show" Mel. dnirmala did. “I went through some real tough zones in my life -- especially the last two years. At 33 it was not easy trying to figure out why you went wrong and how is it that you still haven’t found an identity.”
In a truly inspirational story, Mel. dnirmala strips herself bare, recounting the major events in her life -- her childhood, marriage, sexual abuse, work and financial turmoil.
This weekend, meet the first-time author and other local artists at "The Strip Show" Book Launch Party. Taking place at the Boiler Room in St James Power Station, the party will feature performances by Belly Dance Discovery, internationally renowned percussion group Wicked Aura Batucuda, as well as rapper and music sensation Mark Bonafide. Also on the program is a stand-up act by celebrity comedian Kumar and a fashion show organized by social enterprise B Gorgeous.
Purchase tickets (S$15) at www.tdc.sg. Members of St. James get in for free. Doors open at 4 p.m.
