Revealed -- Singapore boy takes centerstage for Resorts World's circus spectacular show

It's certainly an ambitious project -- a circus theatrical production on a scale and standard to rival that of Cirque du Soleil, and it'll also be Singapore's first ever such performance. Resorts World Sentosa is pulling together all the elements to stage its first resident show "Voyage de la Vie" and they've unveiled its international cast of performers, helmed surprisingly by a local talent -- Singaporean singer and songwriter, Jonathan Leong, the finalist for the 2006 Singapore Idol contest.

Leong will be joined by other international circus stars such as Viktor Kee, one of the best jugglers in the world, French trapeze contortionist Aurelia Cats and handstand artist Melanie Chy, as well as crossbow artist Martii Peltonen, Finnish rope aerialist Linna Aunola, 15-year old contortionist prodigy Alexey Goloborodko, and the Las Vegas magician duo of Jarrett & Raja. The casino resort is already calling it "a fast-paced, colorful, stunt-a-minute spectacular filled with death-defying circus acts, mind-boggling feats of agility, speed and balance, pulsating music, stunning sets and costumes."

In a public statement, Leong said, "This is a dream come true for me, to be able to share the stage with some of the best global talents in circus and theater production. It’s a world-class production, a world stage, and I hope that Singaporeans will be proud that we are bringing this to Singapore." We certainly hope that he can survive the performance schedule and having to wear heavy theatrical make-up night after night.

"Voyage de la Vie" will premiere at Resorts World Sentosa on June 17 this year, and tickets are already on sale now at all Sistic outlets.
