Hoobastank opt for heartland alternative

Award winning American rock band, Hoobastank, will perform at Downtown East, far from popular venues like the Indoor Stadium and Fort Canning Park
HoobastankHoobastank rocks the large crowds at their last Singapore gig.

Singapore has seen its fair share of big time music acts over the years. Coldplay, Kanye West and Muse have performed at big arenas such as the Singapore Indoor Stadium. However, recently concert organizers have been picking out more obscure locations for their venues, with D’Marquee at Downtown East gaining in popularity.

The venue has already staged the likes of Akon and the Red Jumpsuit Apparatus and this New Year’s Eve it will be staging Hoobastank for their second concert in Singapore. Why is an obscure location in the far eastern side of the island becoming a popular place for big time gigs? Firrdaus Yusoff, a CNNGo reader, says, “Downtown East is a beach destination. Many people come to the place for weekend chalets. Barbeques, chalets and concert watching. Might as well make a day out of it!”

You can join those people for a New Year's Eve party that's sure to make a splash.

Hoobastank will be performing songs from their new album, Fornever on New Year’s Eve at D’Marquee in Downtown East. Tickets can be purchased at www.tdc.sg.
