Attica's house parties: Costumed debauchery

You have to be a little shameless with a 'look-at-me!' complex to be up for one of the famous Attica house parties -- they're loud, rowdy and always a ton of fun. Attica and its sister nightclub Attica Too are virtual magnets for the wild, whacky and weird set, but everyone gets prepped up for a night of debauchery, Ibiza-style.

Case in point -- for its Attica Carnival 5th anniversary party earlier in May, Attica festooned the place with carnival streamers and enough circus décor to make Krusty the Clown proud. Think lollipops, candy floss, air brushed tattoos and a massive bouquet of floating balloons. Even before setting foot into the club, the clubs had long queues snaking away from the entrance. The clubbers were decked out in all sorts of whimsical costumes -- playboy bunnies being the choice of the ladies and a favorite among the men.

True to its New York-style hip nightspot concept, it's a flood of the bold and beautiful inside on the Attica dance floor, grooving to a DJ battle between Nuskool vs Oldskool hip hop. The carnival continued till 7 a.m. with revellers staggering out into the harsh light of day, their hands sticky from sweets, throats sore from revelry and costumes a little worse for wear.
