5 places to get an adrenaline high in Singapore
The feeling of being launched in a reverse bungee has been described as being somewhat similar to that felt by astronauts in a rocket launch. YouTube video from focussingaporevideo.
There's snow in Singapore, there's surf on the island and now there are activities to get your heart pumping and your mouth dry. For adrenaline junkies who flatline at the thought of yet another shopping mall, or even those who just need to get their blood pumping after being pent up in meetings, there are enough top-of-the world thrills on this island to give you a major adrenaline buzz.
The G-MAX Reverse Bungee. G-MAX Reverse Bungee

If you wonder what it's like to be flung in reverse, this topsy-turvy bungee slingshots you up into space in a steel reinforced capsule at 200kmh. Well, you go only as high as 60m, but those 5 minutes of Gs are enough to give you a taste of what astronauts experience in a rocket launch. You can chicken out to the next activity if the video's to rich for your nerves.

The GX-5 Xtreme Swing.GX-5 Xtreme Swing

The same people who are responsible for the reverse bungee at Clarke Quay also brought the GX-5 Xtreme Swing into being. It's a lift-off, literally, with this flyer (no, not the super-slow Singapore Flyer) which hurls you and four other victims in a capsule 100m across the Singapore River and back in a free fall of 50m. At least you'll have company with you when you hit the ground. Figuratively speaking, of course.

The Flying Trapeze @ Sentosa. The Flying Trapeze

If being hurtled into empty space on the above two attractions isn't anti-gravity enough for you, Singapore's first-of-a-kind Flying Trapeze allows you to really cock two fingers up at Newton's pesky laws with some aerial stunts. A troupe of professional trapeze artists will help you swing those knee hangs, mid-air flips, and easy-peasy somersaults just nine meters above the ground.
Thrill & spills at: Siloso Beach, Sentosa, Singapore. www.sentosa.com.sg

The Singapore Flight Experience.Flight Experience

More top-of-the-world thrills as this flight simulator puts you behind the wheels of a commercial Boeing 737. If you rack up enough air miles, you earn some frequent flyers discounts, too. This is as real as it gets to pilot simulator training, with a choice of airports to take off and land in, 180-degree immersive wrap-around visuals, seat vibration and sounds. Too bad, over-friendly flight stewardesses not included.

The Forest Adventures zipline ride.Forest Adventures

It may sound mild, but this treetop obstacle course is 5-8m above ground, and you get to swing from tree to tree, whether it's via ladders, swings, slides, bridges, zipline or nets. You get a briefing, you get a safety harness, but it's all your own sweat and tears for the next one to two hours.
Thrills & spills at: 825 Bedok Reservoir Road, Bedok Reservoir Park, Singapore.
Admission: Tuesdays to Sundays, 10am-6pm; bookings required at 8100-7420. S$34 for adults
