The White Card: Half-off price, full-on dining
It's not cheap at S$500 per card, nor does it have the widest or most extensive network of merchants. But if you're a frequent diner or drinker, the White Card's not a bad deal -- use it and get a whopping 50 percent discount off food at participating restaurants when you bring a friend or family (discounts differ based on size of party, so check the discount structure).
The White Card is essentially a hoity-toity membership dining program launched by Ate Consulting in collaboration with MasterCard -- which means the White Card can be used only in conjunction with a MasterCard.
We've all seen a lot of these discount cards, but the White Card claims to be different because each of its participating restaurants were hand-picked and are in the program by invitation only.
"To us, as foodies, it was really important that we only worked with restaurants that had high standards," said Aun Koh, director of Ate Consulting. "We wanted every restaurateur who took part in the program to look at his or her peers in the collection and feel proud to be part of this group."
