Who was that freak? Singapore Idol crazy makes kids cry, and us worry

Singapore Idol debuts. Singapore shocks.

Contestant 3537 came dressed to kill, thrill or something. We couldn't quite work it out. Decked out as Johannes Krauser from manga series Detroit Metal City, it was a case of look-at-me to make Lindsey proud, but the judges were less than impressed.

"I don’t get him. I don’t get the whole 'garang' (fierce) get up. I know he decided to bring some comic character to life but seriously, was it even necessary? Even so, just to provide some entertainment; it was a huge TURN OFF. I mean there you are, being all ready to conquer the world, or to say the least; the audition room. I was ready for a loud number, maybe something from KISS but unfortunately, he decided to squeak in the end.

I stared at my television; obviously with it staring back at me in guilt. I looked down in horror and I’d rather join the crying kid that he scared off because his crying seemed to be far more enjoyable than, the KRAUSER."
