Wanted: One million wishes to pop the question

One man's quest for the perfect surprise proposal with a little help from the internet
One million wishes to proposeWe've counted 126 blog wishes to date -- just a little under a million to go!

We've heard of marriage proposals spelled out with biplanes in the sky, romantic affairs with 9,999 roses and once even a staged cinematic theater screening, but this has to take the wedding cake. A mysterious Chinese Singapore man who goes by the pseudonym "KK" is on a quest to garner 1,000,000 online wishes for him to propose to his girlfriend.

He's started a blog called "Will You Marry Me" (sounds like a bad reality show), and rather than guess at what the man even means by the word "wish" here, we'll just quote his blog, "I gained inspiration from news by collecting one million well wishes via cyberspace to propose to my girlfriend by 27 January 2010. So it should be the most unforgettable memories by blessings from the world."  Unforgettable indeed ... Er, probably. Actually, we don't know. But KK says he'll also post a short video clip when he hits the 1,000,000 mark.

So far, KK has received media coverage in Asia, including Hong Kong, India and Indonesia, however his site has generated little response from netizens. According to news reports, he's received 1,965 wishes from Taiwan, England, Malaysia and other countries to date. Add in the hundred-odd blog posts and it's a far cry from his stated target number.

So will "KK" get his wishes and live happily ever after? And does he have a Plan B? All we know is, we wish him well (ooh! Count it!).
