Booze for breasts: OverEasy bar gives drinks for the well-endowed
Overeasy Bar & Diner at One Fullerton is offering ladies free drinks based on their breast cup sizes.Last weekend, Overeasy Bar & Diner at One Fullerton ran its "Fill My Cups" promotion, raising eyebrows and some ire by offering free drinks based on a patron's breast cup size. 'A' cups get one free drink, 'B' cups, two, 'C' cups, three and 'D' cuppers celebrated with a free bottle of Belvedere vodka.
The New Paper reports the nightspot came up with the gimmick as tribute of sorts to the evening's guest spinner, DJ DCUP. "It was really a play on the guest deejay's name. When we heard that it was DCUP, we decided to give the event an added spin," Cheryl Ho, spokesman for The Lo & Behold Group, which runs OverEasy and other F&B outlets like Loof and White Rabbit, told The New Paper.

Dana Lam, President of the Association of Women for Action and Research (Aware) called the event "demeaning," saying the event's organizers didn't consider the 'safety and dignity' of the female customers, as they might be 'subjecting themselves to molest and harassment.' A19-year-old student, Yvonne, passed on the promotion, though proudly admitted to having a C-cup. "I think the concept is funny but I would not degrade myself by being a part of it," she said.
On OverEasy's Facebook event page, Natasha Golding posted that "this (promotion) is not cool. Not at all. Makes me think badly of your brand, your bar, the people behind it all. Seems thoughtless. Shame really cause it's a pretty place and the burgers were good." Michaela Therese agreed, writing that it was "objectifying, sexist and nauseating."
Others simply found it funny and harmless. On the Temasek Review website, 'wui' commented that "The bar’s having a laugh. Society needs laughs. So to those who find the promotion distasteful, have a laugh, we don’t need to be serious all the time." Mark Lorenz posted on Manolith.com, a gossip-based blogsite, that "of course, they got complaints by humorless people. Humorless people that won’t be invited to my next party."
What do you think? Harmless fun or tasteless promo? Give us your two cents.
