The first Restaurant Week: Seven days, fifty restaurants, one price
More restaurant applications are being confirmed each day as Restaurant Week nears the launch date, with nearly 60 outlets on board to date. It's already one of the biggest culinary events to be held in countries such as The Netherlands, Austria and Belgium. Now, for the first time in Asia, the inaugural Restaurant Week will be organized in Singapore from March 22-28, 2010.

More than 50 restaurants to date are participating in the first Restaurant Week in Singapore, including many quality middle to top-end restaurants such as Absinthe, Garibaldi, FiftyThree, Bedrock Bar & Grill, The Cliff, Mimolette, The Nautilus Project, Novus, Brasserie Wolf, One On The Bund, Oso Ristorante, OTTO, Picotin, Pasta Brava, The Prime Society, The White Rabbit, Krish, Private Affairs, Tatsuya, The Song of India and Takumi Tokyo.
How it works
Online bookings will open on February 23 onwards via www.restaurantweek.sg. Browse through the full list of restaurants and participating outlets, and make your selection asap. With close to 60 participating restaurants on board, this works out to at least 18,000 seats that will be available.
Restaurant Week tables are limited on each day per restaurant, and it's strictly first-come, first-served only, so once bookings are full, no others will be opened up. American Express Cardmembers have early bookings privileges, since American Express is the official Restaurant Week partner.
“We are excited that the first Restaurant Week in Asia has attracted a lot of great response and participation from sponsors and restaurants. We foresee more restaurants taking part in the next Restaurant Week in Singapore which might take place in the later part of the year,” said Desi Wentink, managing director of event organizers DiningCity.com. After Singapore, Shanghai will be the second city in Asia to launch Restaurant Week from May 3 to 9, 2010.
