Colonial chappati -- Krish restaurant's brave new brunch menu

The roti john, priced at S$16, arrives with shreds of pulled beef short ribs -- instead of the traditional and much more humble minced chicken meat -- on a crusty baguette, while the chapatti (S$14), a popular Indian flat bread, is a picture-perfect confection of eggs, bacon, cheddar, capsicum and caramelized onions. But the crowning glory must go to the near-perfect eggs benedict -- at S$18, it's served with slices of curried duck breast, instead of the formulaic smoked salmon, and drenched in a creamy Hollandaise sauce.
While these dishes are considerably hearty, don't miss the well-executed sides that are priced from S$3 to S$6; of which the 'herby' chili roasted corn and creamy mac & cheese stand out. For families with kids, there’s a wallet-friendly children’s menu comprising 6 items ranging from warm naan with butter and jelly, mini chapatti wraps to the mac and cheese again (of course).
