Singapore cooks up a storm -- Julia Child-style
Decked out in his own personalized apron and oversized hat, MrBrown learns how to cook a perfect French-style omelette. YouTube video from mistabrown.
In a food-obsessed country, it should be no surprise that local food bloggers are getting really excited about the upcoming screening of "Julie & Julia," a movie about legendary American author-chef Julia Child, starring Meryl Streep and Amy Adams.
Kin Mun, better known as MrBrown, went all the way to Cancun, Mexico to learn how to cook at the Julie & Julia's cooking corner. While he didn't make sous chef in a day, at least he didn't burn down the kitchen.
Foodie blogger ieatishootipost undertook a two-hour cooking class to learn how to prepare some of the dishes from the movie. "There's nothing like a film on cooking to get your cooking juices simmering," he said.
"Cooking is as much an art as it is a science but unlike many other artforms, with cooking, you don't need a lot of space to keep your work of art since it usually ends up in your stomach," he added.
hisfoodblog was also invited to the same cooking class at Palate Sensations Cooking School, as part of the movie launch. Read about his culinary experience here.
