The new Indian-accented modern European restaurant, Krish, is named after co-founder, Nikhil Krishnan, who trained as a chef and learned his chops at a string of renowned restaurants including Melbourne’s Vue de Monde. CNNGo catches up with Nik, as he prefers to be called, to learn more about the making of Krish.

CNNGo: Why did you decide to start this Indian-accented modern European restaurant in Singapore?

Nikhil Krishnan: It has never been done in Singapore, as far as I know. The concept is totally different. Indian food has this perception of being really heavy food and it is, mostly. What people like about Indian food is the variety of flavors, the melange of spices. We try and take what is good and subtle about Indian food and apply it to French cooking methodology.
