World Cup mascot - Zakumi
Football fans in Singapore may not be joining Zakumi, the World Cup 2010 mascot, in South Africa.
Must know: Rival telecom companies Starhub and Singtel are facing an uphill battled for their joint bid for the rights to televise the 2010 World Cup, with FIFA’s asking price being a major stumbling block. Must see: Gerald Chew and Remesh Panicker direct and star in “A Christmas Adam”, a Christmas story that takes a funny look at men from different walks of life during this festive season. The play will be held from Dec 21 – Dec 25 at the Play Den @ The Arts House.

Must know: With the rising availability of technology, authorities have decided to do away with poles in driving tests. Learner drivers are still allowed to adjust side mirrors, wind the windows down or open the driver’s door to assist with their parking.

Must do: Jetstar made its maiden voyage to China with a full flight of 180 passengers to Haikou. The flight, which will last for approximately three hours, leaves Changi Airport Terminal 1 on Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays and Sundays. Come February, Jetstar will have flights to Chinese city, Shantou, the first foreign carrier to do so.
