Chef Ferran Adria of El Bulli makes his Singapore debut
Spanish chef Ferran Adria talks about a dish during a demonstration at the World Summit of Gastronomy in Tokyo. He's arguably one of the greatest chefs of our time, voted "best chef in the world" five times by Restaurant Magazine (the same folks who maintain The World's 50 Best Restaurants' ranking) and his restaurant El Bulli is notoriously overbooked with long queues for reservations (think months, not days). Spanish culinary superstar and three-star Michelin Chef Ferran Adrià will make his first visit to South-East Asia to take part in the 14th World Gourmet Summit this month.

The superstar chef expressed his excitement at his first visit to Singapore. "My impression of Singapore is that of a country which understands and appreciates great food. It has always been my dream to visit South-East Asia and what better time than now during the World Gourmet Summit."
Earlier this year, the culinary world was abuzz with the news that Chef Adrià's El Bulli will close in 2012, and re- open in 2014 as a creativity think tank. Its role will be to attract the best talent worldwide to continue pushing forward the limits of gastronomic creativity. At the World Gourmet Summit 2010, Chef Adrià will reveal details about his future plans for El Bulli.
