Classic and contemporary French cuisine by chef Kelvin Lee.
Le Figue has taken up the space vacated by Whitebait and Kale on the ground level of the upscale Camden Medical Centre since July 2009. And it is proving to be a destination worthy of a detour for degustation-seeking gastronomes.
Unlike its upbeat modern Australian predecessor, Le Figue serves modern French cuisine in a subdued, all-black dining space with warm timber flooring and a gargantuan wire mesh lamp as centerpiece.
But it’s not the interior that you should be awed with.

Standouts from the reasonably priced degustation menu -- priced from S$68 per person for a sx-course dinner -- includes fresh oyster in a divine candied ginger bath crowned with warm cucumber salad and a refreshing basil jelly; chive-flecked risotto served simply with caramelized ceps mushrooms, petals of black truffles slices and black truffle jus; and melt-in-the-mouth white cod topped with Campari-infused fricassee bamboo clam.
Our verdict? Outstanding.
