It makes us laugh just saying the name of this Cantonese rice house in Singapore -- ClaypotFun. Say it with us! Ok, well, we can't hear you if you did, but still, if you have a claypot rice craving, go check out ClaypotFun -- a collaboration between three F&B ‘big boys’ -- Jumbo Group of Restaurants, Palm Beach Seafood Restaurant and Seafood International.
Located at Playground at Big Splash, they specialize in the Cantonese-style cooking where the non-rice ingredients are tossed in the pot when the rice is half-cooked, melding the flavors into the rice. All rice dishes are made from scratch and are available with toppings like chicken, pork, frog’s legs -- um, eww -- veggies and cured meats like lap cheong (Chinese pork sausages).
You can also get crazy and go for a ClaypotFun specialty dish of steam-boiled soups, or for $2, ask for superior stock with ginger and onions to be added to the claypot to create a soupy dish. While you wait, check out the memorabilia from the ’60s scattered across the entire place.
