Spin: A new turn on plates

At Spin, half-baked Chinese porcelain gets a sexy new turn in the designs of Hong Kong-born, New York-based Gary Wang and his team of international ceramic artists.

Simplicity is the name of the game here with pared-down designs in milky white and china blue/green. The dishes are spruced up with bold, angular forms and the subtlest hints of under-glaze color to create talk-of-the-table dinner sets, teapots, giant vases and candle holders.

Spin’s two-storey showroom in a former French Concession factory building showcases the full range of well-priced pieces starting from just RMB 30, or you can try before you buy at the owners’ nearby restaurants Shintori and Bull Noodle.
